I freaking LOVE Instagram. I have been discovering some of the coolest clothing and jewelry there over the past few poor bank account! There are so many creative people out there and I love supporting anything handmade. Here is another jewelry designer I have come across recently on my Instagram travels - Sally Leung of Lyleu (@lyleujewellery).
Lyleu jewellery was launched in early 2014 by designer-maker Sally Leung. Taking inspiration from a strong interest in art and illustration, alt rock, and horror films, each collection aims to be expressive of the themes and aesthetics that Sally finds most personal. Forging together simple geometry and a monochromatic colour scheme, Lyleu offers minimalistic designs with a subtle, dark intricacy. All our jewellery is handmade by Sally in Sydney, Australia using sterling silver. Every piece is carefully hand cut, joined, fabricated, and finished by hand. Each is unique.
I love so many of her pieces, and I am a fan of her use of geometry as it is reminiscent of my vintage brutalist jewelry I have collected.
