since i can't buy clothes...

Pardon the silence from my end, but I'm just not up for photographing my large self these days, especially since my outfits of late are a whole lot less then stellar. I'm fitting into less and less, and making due instead of shopping for new clothes. Instead, I'm playing around with new skin care and makeup. I've been watching some tutorials on YouTube, and have really been enjoying switching things up.

I went to both the drug store and Sephora last week, and here's what I came home with:

From the drug store:

I've always wanted to try fake lashes, and these were quite cheap so I thought I'd give them a try. Then I realized I really have no where to wear them so I'm thinking it's time to make some adult plans!

A lot of the makeup tutorials I've been watching use a foundation brush instead of sponge so I bought one from Quo, along with an eyebrow brush. So far, I'm liking the results of both. I find I still need to use my fingers to blend the foundation in a bit but I think I just need practice  The brow brush is amazing, and shapes  them wonderfully!

This nail polish remover is fantastic...like salon quality acetone without drying out my nails. I highly recommend.

From Sephora:

My face has been horrible since this pregnancy has started. I was recommended this balm by a friend and oh my goodness its amazing. After only two days of using it my skin was brighter and softer. It removes all traces of makeup, and seems to unclog my pores really well. It's pricey, but you only use a little bit at a time so this is getting a huge thumbs up.

New purple-y polish..."It's Hippo To Be Square. I haven't tried it yet but its by OPI so I'm sure it'll be awesome.

I haven't been sleeping well lately, and it shows in my eyes. They're often swollen, with dark bags so I asked the salesperson for a corrector and she recommended Erase Paste by Benefit. I've only used it once, and liked the results. She did stress that I should be using an eye cream so I need to get one.

Best mascara ever. DiorShow, this time waterproof.

I didn't really need a new liner, but I wanted one that won't run in the heat and saw this Larger than Life long wear eyeliner from Nars. I haven't used it yet, but I did try it on my hand in the store, and despite using makeup remover, washing my hands countless times, and showering, a faint line remained. Now I'm kind of scared to try it on my eyes!

i have the polish remover and love it. I've been dying for a foundation brush for ages - I should get one too. And now you've got me wanting to try that mascara (forgot you mentioned you like that one) and liner.

Kiehls' Midnight Recovery Concentrate!

I really like Kiehl's avocado eye cream. And the neutrogena basic eye cream in the tube is great for a drugstore item. I use both.

My fav mascara: Tarte lights camera lashes. The best I've found.
