jeans

With the cool weather here I'm thinking a shopping day for jeans is in order. I must have lost a little weight (yay!) since last winter and most of my jeans are a bit too loose. I need a skinny pair (cause despite these being called "Always Skinny", they are far from it), a dark pair, a wide leg pair, and a black pair. I'm pretty sure I hate jean shopping more then bathing suit shopping. Must have something to do with being 5'1" and most jeans having 32"+  inseams. I wish I could find one go-to-brand.

(Today was finger paint day at playgroup, so this outfit is far from interesting as I was convinced I'd be looking like the rainbow. Miraculously, I made it out unscathed.)

sweater: Simons
jeans: Gap Always Skinny
shoes: Converse
bag: Aldo
leather cuff bracelet: so old, can't remember

Your hair is nice. Do you have layers? What sort of cut did you get (I'd like to ask my stylist to re-create it on me!)?

Hi Jen,

I'm a 5 foot reader of your blog... I can always rely on Gap Always Skinny Jeans in the ankle length/ petite sizes. The ankle length is still a little long but look cute with taller shoes and are cute cuffed. My fave skinnies are AG Jeans for Anthro called the Stevie Ankle... for shorties like us, they are the perfect regular pant length, they have the perfect amount of stretch and the colors/ patterns are fun. The bummer is they are pricey and take foreeevvvver to hit sale :( Best of luck!

Thanks! It's really grown out as I last cut it in April. I have A LOT of layers, and the front is at least 3 inches longer than the back.

Gap has always been by go-to because of the ankle length...but lately their pants fit me weird. I'm actually wearing the Always Skinny in these pics, and as you can see they are far from skinny... especially in the knees. I will keep an eye out on the Anthro ones though!

Sweater is amazing. Gia spent the day stuffing things in the pocket!

You are sooo right about Gap... I used to buy all my work pants there. This season, they are all super long and fit me weird! I don't know if you've tried this, but I have been able to wear some GapKids bottoms in the 16+ size (I'm a 4/ 6 in adult sizes).
