the perfect black bootie

I do not own a basic black bootie. I have a flat, suede with spikes, and a motorcycle style. Neither of which function very well for a classic black bootie. There is one I have had my eye on for months, that has been all over fashion blogland for ages, and has me totally convinced is the PERFECT black bootie.

This lovely specimen is Acne's Pistol Boot. (Top one via Net-a-Porter, bottom via Gravity Pope). It is the perfect heel height (2") perfect sole thickness, the little tassel on the side is a cute feature and it's just beeootiful. Unfortunately it runs about $570. That is like a sword through my heart. If I didn't want to wreck my house and build a much larger new one this spring, I'd have these in the palm of my hands right now, and I'd be stroking them whilst singing sweet little love songs. And goddammit my birthday isn't until August. To get my mind off of these beauties, I went searching around the internet for something even remotely awesome. I found some....but they aren't the pistol boot.... (note: some of these are suede but I really hate buying suede footwear as they don't fair so well in slush/snow/salt)

I did just find a pair of boots that are I think at the same level of coolness as the Acne Pistol boot....sadly they're about the same price. But SO FAB. They are Alexander Wang's Anouck chelsea boot.
