NUIT - S/S2017

NUIT is a favourite clothing line of mine by Toronto-based Anastasia Ikonnikova, and her latest season is filled with black goth/medieval/mystical loveliness, as always. Here are some of my favourite pieces...

Sharon Brunsher

I recently discovered Tel Aviv, Israel based designer Sharon Brunsher on Instagram and I absolutely adore this creative woman's aesthetic. Natural, black and white, organic, raw......all the good things.

P.S. Alot of this is sale so get over to her site and snap some of this up quick!
P.P.S. She is coming out with a linen bedding line which I can't wait to see, and I'll be sharing some of her home goods on my page of DTI.

Aleksandr Manamïs at Cendre

It wasn't until Audrey started carrying this label @ Cendre did I find a new love. Copenhagen designer Aleksandr Manamïs - an old school elegance that is so unique these days.

The raison d'être behind Copenhagen-based Aleksandr Manamïs can be found in the true merit of controlled effortlessness. The exemplary rather languid layering alludes to elegant simplicity, whereas illusive and at times hidden details confront the bearer astutely. The collections combine such elements as guised draping, fused with any array of bespoke fits, to underline the versatility of the carefully selected garments.

The characteristic colour palette is dominated by dark shades of grey, black and sands, for the summer and winter collections. Furthermore, prints will rarely be found on an Aleksandr Manamïs garment. Contrarily, the styles and silhouettes are subjected to the desire retaining the complexity of the intricate details as a clear focal point. Hence, immaculate detailing and exquisite craftsmanship shape the true signature look and feel of what became Aleksandr Manamïs.

Overall, the Aleksandr Manamïs collections can be deconstructed into three categories; firstly, an array of more basic styles inspired by the effortless appraisal of our day-to-day, secondly, an alluring segment of rather slouchy, droopy and deconstructed styles with a more tailored sterling look and thirdly one can observe, a line of more delicate exclusive avant-garde garments. All three segments are elegantly interconnected and thoroughly absorb and illustrate the unmistakable look of the label.

Noctex - new autumn/winter collection

Negin of Vancouver brand Noctex has done it again. Her latest collection, launched a couple of days ago, has me lusting over every single piece. Her clothing has become a staple in my every day wardrobe as it's all so easy to wear. Classics with an edge. Go get yourself some pieces. Trust me on this one. (Plus, I recently found out her boobs are even larger than mine, and she designs with boobs and curves in mind, so dear gawd I think I may fit in the button-down shirt below!)

new ring

Barbara Beamiss creates the most incredible jewelry. Such unique pieces, which is what I am after in that department. Unique goes with the wacky avant-garde (goth-ish) clothing/footwear I tend to wear alot of. Using a lost wax technique, each item is only made once. Doesn't get more unique than that! I have now acquired a third piece - a stunning oxidized ring - from the lovely and talented Barbara and I absolutely adore it, and wanted to share it with you. Do go check out her shop. Thank you Barbara!!
